The visit comes at a significant time for Suretank, as the company is finalising a major order for 20 modular data centre pods destined for Frankfurt, Germany. The project reflects the growing demand within the German market for high specification, off site manufactured solutions that support rapid deployment, reliability, and sustainability in digital infrastructure.

During the visit, Ambassador Gill met with Suretank’s leadership and technical teams to gain insight into the company’s modular capabilities, engineering standards, and approach to off-site manufacturing. Discussions also explored how Irish engineering expertise continues to complement Germany’s reputation for precision, quality, and technical rigour.

Speaking during the visit, Ambassador David Gill commented on the role of modular manufacturing in supporting the next phase of data centre development in Germany:

“Germany’s long-standing culture of precision engineering and strict quality standards creates an ideal environment for the next phase of data centre growth. High specification modular manufacturing facilities enable faster, more predictable deployment, greater scalability, and tighter quality control across multiple sites, which is crucial as capacity needs evolve and projects become more time critical. At the same time, precision engineered components support higher energy efficiency, reduced downtime, and better compliance with demanding reliability and sustainability requirements. Together, these capabilities make modular, precision-built solutions a key lever for building resilient, future ready digital infrastructure in the German market.”

Suretank’s modular pods are designed and manufactured using advanced off site manufacturing techniques, allowing complex electrical, mechanical, and digital infrastructure to be fully integrated and tested prior to delivery. This approach reduces on site construction risk, shortens project timelines, and ensures consistent quality across international deployments.

The visit also included a discussion on organisational culture, skills development, and the importance of long term investment in people. Isabella J Maria Neisinger, Head of Culture at the German Embassy, reflected on Suretank’s internal development philosophy and its relevance within a European context:
